Ordered our Kind Of Politically Correct Christmas Cards this morning! - How I'm Wishing our Uber-Liberal Friends a Politically Correct Christmas This Year

This morning when I grabbed my first cup of strong, hot, black coffee (brewed at the 6 oz. setting on my iCoffee brewer so it would nice and strong) I wasn't sure what the day held.

I knew I wanted to avoid most of the news - it's just leftover from yesterday's election results and a bunch of people experiencing some knee-jerk reactions to Mr. Trump being the next President... and I'd rather wait for everyone to settle down a bit before I jump back into that circus of reading.  Since I wasn't knee-deep in news stories, I checked my email accounts and such and then...  decided to browse some Christmas Card ideas.

This year I've just not been inspired.  Some years I make them myself.  Other years I design them myself online and order them.  This year I couldn't find a design that caught my eye; but I didn't have any design I wanted to create either.  For the last couple weeks I've just browsed a bit (in local retail stores craft departments as well as online) and then today... it just came together.

I found a card template online that felt right.  I added some photos and text.  The front was done.

Now for the back of my card.

About 2 (?) years ago I found this little ditty somewhere on the net (Lord knows where... it's all over by now) and saved it to my files.  I forgot all about it until I was getting ready to write this years Christmas letter (more on those at a later date) and saw this again.

So my friends...  if you are getting a card from us this year, you will find this on the back of it.  Changed a tiny bit from the original I had saved in my files 'way back when' but yep; this is what is being sent this year.  Yes, it's packed with a bit o' tongue in cheek sarcasm, but I suppose only the witty will get it.

To Our Liberal Friends:

Please accept with no obligation, implied or explicit, our best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all.

We also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2017, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country, nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere. Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sex.

To Our Conservative Friends and Family:

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! May God bless you and God bless America!
