While the first graphic is the results of the 2016 election showing an overwhelming sea of red (Trump) votes; the second is a very simple, easy to understand version I saw in multiple places on social media. Although there is a lengthy explanation about the electoral college, why we need it and how it is one of our checks and balances in our election process; this little image makes it so simplified that even a 5 year old should be able to follow it.
