I've just got a friendly face.... you can't take me anywhere

I know I've posted about this before, because I remember telling you all about the guy that kept talking to me for so long, and ran out to his car to get a little Christmas bag and Christmas card for me and then came back in the store and found me to give it to me... made the employees watching on security cameras at Walmart so nervous they sent an employee over to make sure I was ok....

Well, my husband doesn't even question the fact that I every time I come home from running errands, no matter how quick, simple where it's to, I will have information that people willingly just start telling me.  Strangers approach me and start conversations and before I know it, I know way too much about their lives.   We are talking things like details about their cancer and open sores in their hoo-ha's, about men's wives and ex-wives, who their chiropractor is, how long they've been married, where all their family live, those that have horses boarded at local stables and their horse riding excursions, about family living overseas, about the food they are buying, bursting into tears and just needing a friendly face to listen to them, asking me random food and ingredient questions, having me write down food items, brand names... just anythingEverything even.

Today wasn't a day where people gave me TMI like usual, but it was a day where I couldn't simply grocery shop at Sam's Club without being stopped about every 20 minutes with the most random questions!

One woman was walking by and literally stopped and peered into my cart, looking at my food, when she suddenly asked, "Do you happen to know how many sugar grams are in that wheat bread your buying?"  And I said yes, I did! It was one of the lowest brand available at Sam's Clubs, at 3 grams.  She then asked if I knew how many carbs it had?  So this started a conversation in which I found out she has Diabetes and has to watch her sugar and carb counts... which led to her telling me about also having liver problems and having gotten hepatitis due to her Diabetes and how people have told her the dark circles and puffy bags under her eyes are due to her liver problems.....

Another man in another aisle excused himself and asked if I knew what supplements would be good for women and their bones... which led to me asking if it were just for bones or for joints as well?  I pointed out the glucoseamine and explained the benefits of glucoseamine as well as pointing out the calcium supplements for bones and whether or not he needed to look for a calcium supplement that included Vitamin D - and we discussed how the sun can help your body make vitamin D....

It ends up he was buying supplements for neighbors and family members back home - the bone and joint supplements for a 27 year old niece and a son who was born with kidney issues, and only one working kidney, and now has joint problems due to it (?).  But the most interesting part?  He was getting all these requests through texts and emails on his phone, and was reading off what they wanted to me...  in Arabic.

I could see his emails, but obviously couldn't read them since I don't know how to read Arabic.  But I helped him figure out what his niece was requesting and which were good for joint health, and he told me that when he got them home all his neighbors would rush over and take them all from him.  LOL.

Colors that looked good, where items were, telling me what they were looking for... everyone always has something to say to me.  Today the questions and conversations (like the Arabic emails) were so out of the norm that I started to feel like I was on a hidden camera.  Well, other than the security cameras in the ceilings of course.

I guess everyone can tell I'm truly a friendly, helpful, honest and approachable person because LITERALLY everywhere I go - any day - any time - any store...  I'm approached and asked for help, asked questions, or people just strike up conversations with me.

My husband just shakes his head and smiles.  He can't believe how quickly people approach me and start opening up about their lives.  I don't know.  I just have one of those faces I guess.  My husband doesn't like to go anywhere or run errands anyway - but even when he does, he's learned to just accept the fact that random strangers are going to walk up and just start random conversations with me.  He's learned to walk away and go for a short jaunt around the store or wherever we are because many times those people will keep me for at least 20 minutes.

I figure God put me there for a reason... the reason being these people just needed a friendly face at that moment in their lives.
