It's just the coffee talking: The Chemex brand pour over coffeemaker... 6, 8 and 10 cup size

I believe I've talked about the Bodum Pour Over Coffee Maker
in the past.  I'm not going to go searching through my files to check, as it's not really all that important except for the fact that today I'm going to chat over coffee about a similar product but the Chemex brand.

I personally like when people mention 'how this post came about' backstories (yep I love when authors do it in their books as well) so here is my backstory to this post.

The decision to post this morning is because someone I know of (online, not personally) is opening a new coffee shop this week.

They've revamped an old building to make it a really awesome cool coffee house and have been gearing up for their grand opening with some small taste-parties and small gatherings for family and friends.

They put a lot of thought into every little decision that went with opening their business and one of the products they are offering is a pour-over coffee made with the Chemex brand coffeemaker.  They posted a photo this morning on social media and the Chemex Glass Coffeemaker was featured in one of them...  which led me to think "I don't believe I've talked about Chemex on the coffee blog...."  So here we are.

When coffee shops choose to use the Chemex brand glassware, that rates pretty highly with me.  Reading the reviews, currently over 90% gave a 5 out of 5 stars - and this is looking at over 5.5K reviews.

Product Description:  Invented in 1941, Chemex has been brewing perfect filtered coffee for generations. Its iconic hour glass shape is so beautiful, it can be found in some of the most prestigious museums worldwide. Its design, timeless and functional, has never been altered.

The perfect blend of art and science, simple to use and extraordinary results. Accept no imitations. The Chemex carafe is made from non-porous, tempered borosilicate glass - like that used for labware. Therefore it is totally pure, imparting no flavors of its own and is also resistant to thermal shock. The Chemex can be used for brewing both hot and iced beverages, including coffee and tea.

I'm almost positive I've mentioned the Bodum brand before - here is a link to one of theirs on Amazon.  Chemex is listed below.

Bodum Pour Over Coffee Maker

The Chemex brand comes in various sizes including the 10 cup (although you don't have to make 10 cups every time, you determine the amount of coffee grounds and water used, so you can make as little or as much as you wish).

The smaller version - CHEMEX Pour-Over Glass Coffeemaker - Classic Series - 6-Cup
