Currently Reading: Educated

When 'everyone' was reading this one about two years ago, I just couldn't get myself to do it.  Yes, it sounded really good and certainly interesting but it's really hard for me to do what everyone else is doing.

Plus - I go in spurts of what genre and interest I like to read.

So... it was finally time to start it.  I'm almost finished now and it's pretty good.  Not as great as I thought it would be based on the huge expectations I had from how it was raved about by... well, everyone?  But it's good.  And it's kept my interest the whole time!

Educated: A Memoir

Born to survivalists in the mountains of Idaho, Tara Westover was seventeen the first time she set foot in a classroom. Her family was so isolated from mainstream society that there was no one to ensure the children received an education, and no one to intervene when one of Tara’s older brothers became violent. When another brother got himself into college, Tara decided to try a new kind of life. Her quest for knowledge transformed her, taking her over oceans and across continents, to Harvard and to Cambridge University. Only then would she wonder if she’d traveled too far, if there was still a way home.
