Ok~ Here is the Keurig I GOT and the Keurig I WANTED but didn't get.... (it was a coffee emergency, my options were limited!)

It was a coffee emergency.  Regular readers know my coffee maker decided that if one cup of coffee was fine, that 2 cups at a time would be even better!

Um, no.

So this morning after I got a cup and a travel mug full (on one k-cup and my chosen setting of 6 oz.) I decided to head to the store and pick up a working coffee machine.  But, it's Easter Sunday.  And some stores are closed.  And I don't have the time to order online.

Walmart it was!

Now, if my Walmart had had THIS BEAUTIFUL BABY I totally would have gotten it.  The slim new Keurig in Evening Teal?  Is this not the coolest color?

Keurig K-Mini Plus Coffee Maker, Single Serve K-Cup Pod Coffee Brewer

It's not only lovely, in this oddly satisfying shade of blue, but it's less than 5 inches side so it's not like, "HELLO I AM A COFFEE MAKER TAKING UP TONS OF ROOM!  WOULD YOU LIKE SOME COFFEE?"  But more of a gentle, calm voice saying, "Excuse me, would you like some coffee?"

Yes please!

But my Walmart didn't have it.

They had one of the slim models in stock but it was just a plain black and it looked like it had been opened - which is fine - except I couldn't tell if it was an 'opened to have a look-see or opened because someone returned it' and I don't want sloppy seconds.

Instead, I had very few options.

I had a large Keurig that had a carafe as well as the single serve, which I don't need.  I have a Hamilton Beach that does fine if I want a full 'pot'.   And they had a spot for the new(ish) InstantPot brand coffee brewer but it was all sold out.  The other options were the carafe style - no other single serve.

So I got the ONE AND ONLY VERSION THEY HAD PLENTY OF... because I think (?) Keurig may have stopped making them to push their newer 'slim' version; it's the K Compact coffee maker.

And it's ... fine.

There are no bells and whistles, nothing fancy-dancy but it works and for someone who needs her coffee in the morning, this will do just fine.  I've bought fancy-dancy.  For now this is good, and then when I buy a new coffee brewer, this one can be my back-up.  You know, for emergencies like this morning.

So the end of my story is that my "give and give until you can't give anymore" coffee brewer has been replaced with an emergency Keurig brewer I picked up at Walmart today.

Here is the Cuisinart I had in the office before I switched out the one from the kitchen:  it makes yummy coffee but not hot enough for the weirdo I am that has to have my coffee piping, piping hot!

Here is another photo of the oh-so-cute super slim version Keurig came out with that I might just end up getting.  I know they have them in stock at Target - which is closed today due to Easter - or I could order one online.

And here is the one I 'debated' on.   Even though Walmart only had 3 coffee brewers in stock that could make coffee with k-cups, this was one of them.  The K-compact in RED.  Which was marked down to clear out at $48.  But... I couldn't do it.  I could not live with a red coffee maker.  It matches and goes with precisely, exactly, NOTHING In my entire house.  And my office is all in creamy white and rustic wood.  Blues and grays are nice in my office.  Black coffee brewers are fine.  But red would be an eye-sore I'd have to live with daily... knowing it only saved me $12.  So I didn't do it.  I bought this style, but in black.

The end.
