When you have "Bitchin Camero" "Big Lizard in my Backyard" and "Retards to the Zoo" stuck in your head playing over and over again.... (The Dead Milkmen)

If you approached me and said "Hey Jack, what's happening?"  I know EXACTLY how to respond and we could be friends forever.

"Hey Jack, what's happenin'?"

"I don't know."

"Well uh, rumor around town says you might be thinking about going down to the shore."

"Uh yeah.  I think I'm gonna go down to the shore."

"What you gonna do down there?"

"Uh, I don't know.  Play some video games, buy some Def Leppard t-shirts."

"Don't forget your Motley Crue t-shirt.  You know all proceeds go to get their lead singer out of jail."

"I've got a car now."

"Oh wow, how'd you get a car?"

"My parents drove it from the Bahamas"

"You're kidding"

"I must be; the Bahamas are islands"

When I suddenly had Big Lizard in my Backyard stuck in my head this morning for no reason what-so-ever, it soon morphed into Bitchin' Camero and Retards to the Zoo.  This of course led me to ask myself;  "Are The Dead Milkmen still around?"

Although my second and next thought was

"I should say 'Are the Dead Milkmen still alive?'"  (Get it?  I amuse myself.)

And if you are TOTALLY confused by this post at this point... here.  Hit play, then keep reading.

And the answer to my question is... YES.  They are.

The Dead Milkmen are still around although their website press page does talk about some changes to the band through the years.  Totally understandable.  And it also has information on new releases, and how you can book them.

I've not thought of them in years... literally years and years and years.  But when I went to youtube and listened to some of their early music, I was suddenly 16 and 17 years old again.

Then I started to think about their song Retards to the Zoo and realized what a huge outrage (protests, riots!  Because... that's what any offended person does in 2020 and 2021 now) if it were released today.

Who am I kidding?  It could never see the light of day today...

It's a boring day - I've got nothing to do
Except to get a load of retards and drive em to the zoo

But for whatever reason, their music came to mind this morning and turned into an 'ear worm' that wouldn't go away.  It was kind of neat to see they are still making music and to see a photo of the band.  Ahh... the 80's.
