California Voters Already Having Trouble Casting Votes in Recall Election - They are being told they "already voted" - and interestingly - it's happening to registered Republican voters

San Fernando Valley residents have trouble casting recall ballots

West Hills resident Estelle Bender, 88, said she was far from the only person who was being told incorrectly that they had already voted.

In addition to friends of hers who experienced the issue and two other women outside the polling place, Bender said that inside, “the man next to me was arguing the same thing.”

Bender said she filled out a provisional ballot and “left really angry.”

Bender added that, to her knowledge, many of those affected by this issue are self-identified Republicans, and she’s suspicious.

“I’d still like to know how I voted,” Bender said.

We are just days away from the recall Election Day, where voters will decide whether to keep Governor Gavin Newsom in office.

In this last weekend before the big day, voters in Woodland Hills experienced a glitch at check-in. Some voters were told they had already voted, when they hadn’t.

“My confidence is not the same as it used to be about the voting system,” Almada said.

When she came to cast her ballot she started recording when she realized other voters were complaining about a glitch.

“We’re having issues with the system, and it’s saying people voted.”

When she tried to check in, she was told she had already voted.

“It’s the same for you as well. That's the same for everyone, too,” the clerk said.

“So my concern basically is why is the system glitching like this? This is a pretty serious glitch,” Almada said.
