Yes, you can say 'gay' in Florida.  (I'm rolling my eyes.) I've heard a lot of inaccurate information and snarky remarks and downright ugly screaming and going off by certain groups of people. Many of them have no idea what they are talking about.

If you don't understand the details, then it's simple - it's not appropriate for schools to teach 4 year olds, or  6 or 7 year olds about sexual orientation or gender identity.  Heck, I don't think it's up to the schools to do that at any age.  If they would go back to basics (that aren't being taught anymore or taught half-assed) like history, math, reading, sociology, economics, etc. this country would be in a much better place 10 years from now as those kids hit the age of starting careers and adult life.

It's regarding pre-K through grade 3.  Little children.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis on Monday signed into law HB 1557, a measure that forbids instruction on sexual orientation and gender identity to children in grades pre-K through grade 3.

The legislation states that “classroom instruction by school personnel or third parties on sexual orientation or gender identity may not occur in kindergarten through grade 3 or in a manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards.”
