It's Just the Coffee Talking: Embracing the Pumpkin Spice Coffee Latte-ish Craze and... Seasons of Weariness

Good Morning - even though I've already ate brunch at this point.  I do have coffee in hand though so I'm legit talking over coffee.

Side note:  WHO have I become this Fall?  This is NOT me....  I have never been a fan of flavored coffee in general and certainly, never ever a fan of the whole 'pumpkin spice' thing.  Eye-rolling comes to mind when social media starts to fill with pumpkin everything in August.

So imagine my shock when I'm in the grocery store and I see the Pumpkin Spice flavored coffee creamer and it sounds good.  I told myself NOT to purchase it, because I did this last year, hated it, and gave the whole thing away to a friend.

I put it back on the shelf, but reached up and grabbed it again and put it into the basket.  As I finished shopping, I was in the coffee aisle and saw the Dunkin' Donuts Pumpkin Spice coffee k-cups and thought about how I might actually like the pumpkin spice coffee with the pumpkin spice creamer as I already knew I had previously hated it in 'regular' black coffee.

So I bought that too.

And together?  I love it this year.  What changed?  What happened?  Where did this Pumpkin Spice Latte' ish craving come from?  WHO IS THIS PERSON I HAVE BECOME?

I remember hearing our taste buds change every 7 years (whether it's true or not I don't know) but sure enough, for the first time in my life I'm embracing the Pumpkin Spice Coffee thing.  Odd... but I'm enjoying it for now so there's that.

General Chit-Chat

How are you feeling?  Craziness in our country and our world.  Stress. Financial hardships. Crazy-being the new normal.  Hate filled media. Family medical concerns. Elderly relatives needing some life-changing decisions. A President that is trying his best to divide the country and incite violence.   Gah.

I read an 'old' blog of someone's this morning (old meaning, most bloggers stopped blogging around 2009 and 2010 after it was a 'thing' but they are still available to read online.)

A line that jumped out at me and I found myself pondering over coffee was this;

Seasons of weariness.

I stopped.  I read it again.  I said it aloud.  I pondered it.

Fitting.  Very fitting.

I've been in the midst of seasons of weariness lately.

I'm so ready for it to pass.
