".......Former Hamtramck Police Chief Jamiel Altaheri, a Muslim of Yemeni descent, was accused in a whistleblower lawsuit of hitting and punching the mother of his child on multiple occasions and pressuring responding officers not to formally document the incidents, telling an officer: “You guys here in Michigan don’t handle things the correct way; you guys make everything formal.”
The lawsuit says his partner accused him of punching her in the stomach and hitting her with a shower curtain, while another confrontation left her fingernail ripped off.
A separate 59-page investigation into Altaheri found evidence supporting other serious misconduct allegations: driving a city vehicle while intoxicated, asking an evidence technician to wipe his phone after he was suspended, improperly recovering a stolen Mercedes for a friend and giving a loaded gun to a civilian volunteer while telling her to point it at someone’s head.
Altaheri previously served with the NYPD, co-founded the NYPD Muslim Officers Society and the Yemeni American Law Enforcement Officers Association, and later became Hamtramck’s first Muslim police chief."

I think the last line is the most important one.
I honestly think this was a set up - done only for clicks so she could go viral and make money. But still... it's worth thinking about and pondering for a bit.
