A 77-year-old man was allegedly beaten in Seattle by Ahmed Abdullah Osman.
Police were able to identify and locate the suspect thanks to street surveillance cameras.
In
response to the incident, Mayor Wilson reportedly expressed concern
that CCTV puts “refugees at risk,” appearing to prioritize the privacy
of potential offenders over public safety and elderly victims.
The
comments have drawn sharp criticism, with many residents questioning
why protecting criminals seems to take precedence over protecting
law-abiding citizens in the city.
